A Winter Storm that hit our area this morning could bring more than 14 inches of snow and sleet to Long Island by Friday.
A Winter Storm Warning for Nassau County remains in effect through 6 a.m. Feb. 14.
Snow, heavy at times, dropping 2 to 4 inches per hour, rolled in Thursday morning, leaving major accumulations across the area by mid-day. Many towns along the North Shore already hit the one-foot mark by 3 p.m. with Bayville seeing the highest amount of snowfall at 14.6 inches.
While the snow has mostly turned to rain across Long Island, the National Weather Service says this will turn back to snow tonight, with new snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible by morning.
I love you.
