Prizes will be awarded for the best-costumed canines and raffle tickets will be sold by The Shelter Connection. All proceeds will benefit dogs at the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter.

The parade will be held rain or shine in the park at the Landmark on Main Street, 232 Main St., across from the Port Washington Public Library. It is sponsored by the Shelter Connection, a nonprofit that provides training and medical care beyond the shelter’s budget, and by Unleashed Pet Boutique and Spa. A number of local merchants have contributed prizes. There is no fee to enter pets in the parade.
