Mitzvah Day And Israelfest


The fourth community-wide Mitzvah Day is being held on Sunday, May 15, at 9:30 a.m. at The Community Synagogue, 160 Middle Neck Rd. Six synagogues in the Port Washington area are coming together as a community to work jointly on numerous mitzvah projects to benefit a wide range of local and worldwide recipients.Mitzvahday051116B Mitzvahday051116C

The schedule of events is:

9:30 a.m. Kickoff—Enjoy a bagel breakfast. Receive a Mitzvah Day T-shirt and project information;

10 a.m. Opening ceremony at The Community Synagogue;

10:30 a.m. Mitzvah Projects—over 40 mitzvah projects to participate in;

1 p.m. Israelfest at Bar Beach, North Hempstead Beach Park, celebrating Israel’s 68th birthday with food, music and games. Admission and parking are free.
