Ice Hockey Wins County Championship

On Tuesday, March 24, the Port Washington/ Manhasset high school ice hockey won the Nassau County JV championship, with a resounding 6-3 defeat over the rival Bellmore-Merrick Bulldogs. The Storm, as the team is known, finished the High School Hockey League of Nassau County season with a record of 15-4-1, and defeated Plainview in the semi-finals to reach Tuesday’s championship game. The Storm is led by Head Coach Alex Caruso, Assistant Coaches Linda Caruso, Jordan Caruso and Jake Lublin, and is supported by the Port Washington Skating Center under the direction of Fred Nielsen. Port Washington players include captain Dan Feldman, Marko Cohen, Matthew Dieber, Andrew Gottfried, Kyle DiLeo, Thomas Carillo, Justin Cenname, John McDonald, Sam Contino, Gianfranco Stacconi and goaltenders William Longmire and Ben Schildkraut. Manhasset players include Corey McCluskey, Kevin Barrett, Jack Boyle, Aram Dadourian, and Markus Mildt. Additional players are Henry Bushell, Andrew Colgan and Noah Kniesly.IceHockey_040815A
