Fire Truck Visits Child’s World

ChildsWorld102815AThis past week, Child’s World Nursery School invited Fire Prevention Officer James Penrose from PWFD to visit for a fire safety presentation. Officer Penrose, Firefighter Jimmy to the kids, talked about what to do in case of a fire. Children practiced “stop, drop and roll” procedures and learned about firefighters gear.

Firefighter Jimmy showed the kids what a firefighter looks like when completely dressed for a fire and to not be afraid, even though they may look scary in all the gear. The children enjoyed sitting on the back of the fire truck and Officer Penrose treated everyone to a firefighter hat.

Registration for Child’s World for 2016-17 opened Nov. 2. Open School visits are Oct. 28 to 30. Call 516-883-4141 for details.
