In the Cow Neck Paddle Tournament, the paddle teams on the Cow Neck peninsula came together on a beautiful day to raise money for Charlie’s Champions and the Winthrop Cancer Center for kids to fight cancer. Port Washington Yacht Club, Plandome Country Club, Manhasset Bay Yacht Club and the Village Club of Sands Point hosted 64 paddle players in an A division and a B division. The players, family and friends gathered at Port Washington Yacht Club to watch the finals.

In the A final, the team of Mike Fanous and Taylor Stanton prevailed over the team of Marty Harmon and Andrew Chan in an entertaining and skillful display of paddle.

In the B final, Greg George and Russell Gomes outlasted the team of Gary Stein and Jose Sanchez.

Greg George’s Panera Bread and John Liegey’s Greenport Brewing Co. donated delicious refreshments. This annual event brings out the best in paddle. The teams engaged in competitive matches, but once the games were done, most relaxed and enjoyed the comradery of the day.
