Port Road Runners Finish Third At NYS Championship


After finishing in second place at the Hempstead tournament on Aug. 4, the Port Washington Road Runners, Port Washington Fire Department’s combined drill team open to members of all four companies, took home a trophy for placing third overall in the New York State Championship tournament on Aug. 18.

The team scored in six of eight events, scoring first place in the Buckets event, third in the Efficiency competition and fifth place in the B Ladder, C Ladder, C Hose and Motor Pump events. In addition to the drill, the team won best appearing drill team in the parade.
